When I paint, I step inside the landscape to represent nature abstractly and organically with all its intricacies.

As an artist, I am inspired by the extraordinary beauty of the westcoast landscape: the scrolls of rainforest foliage, swirls of sea patterns, stretches of sandstone beaches with weathered driftwood and the repetitive drops of rain. In my paintings, I explore the delicate co-existence of ecosystems, examining the remarkable resilience of nature and the human spirit. Using acrylics on large canvas, watery pools of fluid colour are built up to reveal a discovery of intricate patterns and delicate detail. The resulting abstractions are interwoven, interdependent environments. My work has been described as an organic interpretation of nature .......a close-up look at the complex life systems we all rely on to work silently together.
